Medtronic
The company’s aim is to restore people’s
health, so the company culture emphasizes vitality. In her planning, Gu, the
designer, focused on the elements of vigor, life and hope.
Colorful life
Color is the best way to reflect vitality
in a space. In order to avoid the garish look of too many colors, Gu used green
and blue as basic colors, in order to symbolize life and hope, and a neutral
grey to offer contrast. She used one color for each of the office floors, and
all three colors in the canteen area where employees socialize. Of course, a
designer not only chooses colors but also considers their application. Gu
differentiated areas in the building by carpet color. She color-coordinated
desks, chairs and carpets, allowing the furniture to be arranged easily. The
color of seating is also a core concern for designers. The ¡Hola! chair was an
irresistible candidate in this case. This chair, designed in Germany, is made
from vivid materials.
Flexible functionality, robust
transformation
An employee cafeteria is different from a
commercial one. It is trendy for modern companies to have a multi-functional
space; the cafeteria can be a place for employees to dine and rest, but also a
space for meetings, training sessions and presentations. Consequently, Gu
arranged furniture around the walls and used easily moveable chairs and tables
in the center. In addition, it is important that furniture not only represent
the company image, but supports different functions. The ¡Hola! Chair has an
eye-pleasing color and plastic components that are easy to clean. Its light
weight means that it is easy to move and store. Compared to commercial canteens,
which change chairs and tables often, this company’s cafeteria furniture will be
durable and long lasting. The ¡Hola! brand offers a comfortable seating
experience and a longer product life.
