According to “World Happiness Report 2016” released by UN, Denmark ranks the first among 157 countries and regions, being the happiest country in the world.

In spite of working only for 6-7 hours per day, Per Capita GNP in Denmark exceeded USD60,000, ranking the sixth worldwide.“Efficient” must be one of the reasons. It’s adorable to work for only 6-7 hours a day, which means people will have much more time to have fun. But working for only 6-7 hour a day also means people need to be more efficient when engaged in the job.

Now, in order to improve working efficiency and fill the office with more happiness, and impressed by the Scandinavian Peninsula concept, MATSU collaborated with Belgian design team, Dirk Wynants, to develop the office furniture system called “Copenhagen”, and the latter is the name of capital city of Denmark.

Since 2000, open workstation got popular. In 2003, MATSU introduced the concept to China. During the past 15 years, in spite of people’ s evolution in working habit and style, there were few examples of real innovation in office furniture and open workstations never really answered to the changing working environment due to lack of privacy.  The constraints could be seen not only in China but also in Europe countries.

Recently, MATSU and Belgian designing team Dirk Wynant jointly launch “Copenhagen” office furniture system, which simplifies the contradiction of privacy and openness. It worked out a solution for the relativity of office privacy and openness. Panel workstation was the first reform, and open working positon was the second, and Copenhagen will be the third one.

Balance between space efficiency and dynamic shape

Copenhagen uses irregular oblique lines that are almost close to straight lines. Based on that, filleted corners are also adopted to combine efficiency and flexibility. Space without sharp angles makes people feel at home.

Efficiently handling your fragments of time

Working hours are always limited, preventing employees from having much time for relaxation in leisure area. The special environment created by Copenhagen enables people to get distracted for a while on the sofa next to the working position. Nowadays, our time is fragmented by information, collaboration and communication, but diversified space adjacent to us provides employees with relaxing and comfortable office environment in the fast-paced and efficient world.

Natural

Bamboo Wood

Taking advantage of Scandinavian Peninsula’ interpretation of Nature and Chinese local materials, Copenhagen uses bamboo wood to make supporting legs. Bamboo is veritably a kind of renewable resource. Bamboo is a renewable resource and grows as fast as up to 1 meter a day.

100% pure new virgin wool + PET felt

As for the screen, the core is made of PET felt that is environment-friendly. The outer layer is 100% pure new virgin wool, Divina Melange 2 or the more advanced materials, Medley, from Denmark.

Pure new virgin wool is high-quality wool that doesn’t include any recovered wool. As for the screen, PET felt that is environment-friendly was adopted to make furniture. This material is made of pet bottles. Through screening and process, it becomes soft, durable and environment-friendly. Besides, it performs well in acoustics, which plays an important role in sound absorption and noise reduction in the office.

Copenhagen is far more than a workstation

Copenhagen is far more than a working position. It meets all kinds of demands such as work, discussion, collaboration, leisure, learning, meeting, focus, executive etc.
