From November 3rdto November 5th, 2011, the 100% Design exhibition was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Many industry professionals, designers, and high-end consumers came from all over the world to attend the event in spite of the rainy weather. MATSU exhibited its work on the second floor of the convention center with the theme Contemporary Design and Contemporary Furniture, and introduced visitors to many modern furniture pieces of very sophisticated design in its high-quality space filled with inspiration.

MATSU and the100% Design Shanghai
As one of the top contemporary interior design conventions in China, 100% Design Shanghai has a design jury to generate a list of leading contemporary interior design brands, aiming to create an atmosphere full of inspiration, ideas and new concepts for the exhibition.
MATSU’s support for high-quality original design work adheres fully to the spirit of the 100% Design. MATSU’s general trade and business group is committed to observing the concept of “Green Pioneer, Ultimate Design”, and specializes in importing environmentally friendly, high-end furniture products to enhance the work environment and home life of its Chinese customers.
At the exhibition, MATSU introduced many European furniture brands, including SAWAYA & MORONI, BURKHARDT LEITNER, NIMBUS, and TOUCAN-T, and enabled visitors to appreciate exclusive, high-end furniture with cutting-edge design.
In addition to the modern furniture products in the MATSU booth, visitors can also see MATSU products selected in the Director’s Cut area, which is created by director Michael Young for 100% Design London in order to show off masterpieces from the design and manufacturing sector. The Mapel Leather Chair, the Maxima Bar Chair, and the Papilio Work Chair from MATSU were selected as the only Chinese brands in the Director’s Cut area, highlighting MATSU’s leading position in creative product design.
As the sponsor of 100% Design Shanghai, MATSU provided a large quantity of ¡Hola! Lounge Chairs for the meeting area of the exhibition. With its slim structure, vivid colors, and extremely high level of comfort, this chair has won national and international prizes, and was accordingly selected as the meeting chair for this event.
Green Pioneer and Ultimate Design
The MATSU booth was assembled using the remarkable Constructiv Pon Modular Architectural System from BURKHARDT LEITNER.
Boasting an assembly technology that is both easy to use and environmentally friendly, the constructiv pon system used to assemble the booth uses flexible and lightweight aluminum beams with magnetic end connectors. The system can be set up rapidly and cheaply, even without tools, and is completely reusable. The technology harmonizes perfectly with MATSU’s vision of promoting healthy, comfortable, sustainable homes and offices.
Committed to environmental protection, MATSU strives in every aspect of its operations - including product design, material selection and sales - to achieve low carbon emissions, a high recycling rate, low volatile gas emissions, and a long usage life for its products. In order to bring international design masterpieces into China, MATSU has developed partnerships with many top European furniture design companies with the aim of introducing classic, luxurious European design concepts to China.
The display space created by MATSU for 100% Design Shanghai features a simple outline and a comfortable layout. The side wall is unexpectedly inclined outward at a 7° angle, to stress the unlimited flexibility and creative potential of the modular display system. The whole booth is bathed in bright light from energy-saving lamps, as if mirroring the future. The right side of the booth features a SAWAYA & MORONI Moraine Sofa, pure white in color, active and fascinating; the Moraine has become the favorite of many designers including its designer Zaha Hadid, who installed this sofa in her London apartment due to its strong character. Next to the Moraine is the Milana Armrest Chair made from high-strength leather, whose broad cream-colored structure makes for a fashionable and elegant presence. Elsewhere, we can find the Singlax Sofa, with its active and bright colors, and the Butterfly Kiss Chair, which expresses a sense of inspiration and romance, taking users on a pleasant journey into Mother Nature.
At 100% Design Shanghai, MATSU presented an array of products meeting or exceeding the highest international standards, including many original pieces; the products at the show boasted top-tier quality, satisfying functionality, and unparalleled aesthetic quality. Only MATSU can combine all these characteristics with a product line that is 100% environmentally friendly; and only MATSU has brought to the local market furniture inspired and created by A-list designers like Zaha Hadid, William Sawaya, Christian Ghion, and Jean Nouvel.

NIMBUS Office Air Floor-standing Luminaire
The NIMBUS Office Air Floor-standing Luminaire is simple in design, with direct and indirect light components. Diffusor made of acrylic glass for glare elimination and for directing the light downwards by means of aligned conical indentations. The total useful light current of the luminaire is 6050 lumen which brings extraordinary lighting experience.
