High-end office furniture brand, MATSU took part in the grand fair. In Shanghai Exhibition Center, by promoting newborn Copenhagen collection and Motu lifting table, and by introducing Extremis outdoor furniture, MATSU will interpret the concept of “happy working and healthy working”.

Adding Kitchen & Bath Design Pavilion and Office Furniture Pavilion. Three pavilions were set up in 2016, i.e. Contemporary Design Pavilion, Classic Design Pavilion and Limited Design Pavilion, and Design Shanghai 2017 will add another two pavilions, i.e. Kitchen & Bath Design Pavilion and Office Furniture Pavilion, which will attract 350 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions worldwide.

Design Shanghai was so hot that people have to wait for 4 hours at the entrance. So was MATSU's booth.

01. Copenhagen workstation

According to “World Happiness Report 2016” released by UN, Denmark being the happiest country in the world. Now, in order to fill the office withmore happiness, MATSU collaborated with Belgian designing team, Dirk Wynants, to develop the office furniture system called “Copenhagen”, the name of capital city of Denmark.

Copenhagen is far more than a workstation. It meets all kinds of demands such as work, discussion, collaboration, leisure, learning, meeting, discussion, focus, executive etc.

02.Njord,mix-and-match of felt and wood

Njord chair is co-designed by a Danish duo, Antonio Scaffidi and Mads K. Johansen. The felt solidified backrest is the biggest character of the chair.The felt Njord uses performs great tenacity and stability, better than traditional wooden materials. The weight of the chair is only 4.5 kg.

03.  MOTU，Work in motion

Abachus is a high table with a little extra: while standing, you can lean against one of its six arms, providing the minimal comfort you need to honour Bacchus, the god of wine, with your friends. Abachus combines perfectly with the 250 cm Inumbrina parasol.

05.artistic combination of tables and chairs

This table for two is in fact much more than just a table seating two people. Picnik was of course primarily designed as a table and bench seat combination for small outdoor spaces. But thanks to its striking looks – both solid and stylized at the same time – Picnik is also frequently used indoors. Combining several Picnik tables in public or semi-public spaces creates an almost artistic effect. The basic material used is aluminium, which is light, robust, and 100% recyclable. There are several indoor and outdoor versions available.

06.Roxxane Fly，fly with me

MATSU's partner Kvadrat was established in Denmark in 1968 and has deep roots in Scandinavia’s world-famous design tradition. Kvadrat holds the leading position in Europe’s high-quality contemporary textiles market. We supply architects, designers/ private consumers across the world with textiles/ textile-related products.

Clouds, designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, is a timeless interlocking fabric tile concept, which lies somewhere in between furniture and curtains. It evolves as you add elements to it, producing a unique three-dimensional effect.

08.Dialogue with famous designers

The Design Shanghai AD China Design Forum Programme will offer a comprehensive seminar programme with the most influential architects and designers; the theme chosen for the 2017 conference programme is ‘Global design, global craft, global manufacturing’.

Speakers include world-renowned designers such as Karim Rashid, DB Kim, André Fu, Benjamin Hubert, Luca Nichetto, Bethan Laura Wood and many more.

The vivid pink color is the most representative color of Karim Rashid. Karim Rashid is specialized at outlining the design style of the future world and a full range of creative skills, and no one can match this. As the superstar of today’s industrial design community, he has designed fresh products for many well-known international brands, ranging from UMBRA to PRADA, and from ISSEY MIYAKE to METHOD.

The office is 99% Karim Rashid’s designs. Squeeze demonstrates the dynamic relationship between the luminaire body and light element more clearly than any other Nimbus LED luminaire. The soft, flowing formal idiom gently morphs into the flat surface of the newly developed Soft light Diffuser. The synergy with the Nimbus LED technology allowed the New York designer Karim Rashid to create a form that is in no way reminiscent of any other luminaire.
