Blooming elegantly over 20 years, MATSU holds the 20th anniversary’s logo design competition

In order to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary and display the corporate image and brand culture, MATSU launched the "MATSU 20th anniversary’s logo design competition for 2015" on August 15 - October 15, 2015. The competition lasted two months, and a total of more than 200 designers submitted their contributions. Finally, six out of the many outstanding works won the award.

The competition was organized jointly by MATSU and China-Designer.com (Zhedao Media), and the award presenting ceremony was held in the flagship store of MATSU in Shanghai on December 11, announcing the winners at the scene.

Those present at the ceremony included the competition judges such as Wang Xiaoye, Director of the Display Art Project Research Center of China Academy of Art, Chen Tao, Design Director of Shanghai Yidao Design Co., Ltd., Chen Tao, Creative Director of the French NOVA Brand Company, and Joeri Reynaert, a well-known Belgian industrial designer, as well as the industry's best designers and winning representatives.

At the award presenting ceremony, the winners of six major awards were announced, including Sun Jiawen, Wang Yu and Xie Jing receiving the Student Award for Outstanding Works, Landis and Hou Junling receiving the Recognition Award, and Mr. Qian Min as a frontline designer obtaining the Most Outstanding Award.

Design notes: The program was inspired by Chinese paper cutting. The “0” in the 20th was inspired by Volpino, which looks like the shape of “0” on the elevation sketch. The red background integrates the festive elements of the East, becoming the main logo design for the 20th anniversary like a paper-cut. The virtual and actual contrast of the pattern symbolizes MATSU’s persistence and pursuit of dreams. Finally, let us turn the ideas and dreams into your real life!

As a partner of this competition, Head of China-Designer.com in Shanghai Liu Jingyi shared the whole situation and process of this event from the preparation and solicitation to selection at the award presenting ceremony. MATSU with the ultimate pursuit of the research on the future office concept and of product design innovation will strive to realize a century dream, in order to constantly promote the healthy development of the Chinese furniture industry.

Chatting cheerfully in the space with great aesthetic perception of design after the event, the guests talked about their views and ideas on design trends, original design, the future office environment and form, and other related topics. Then, with great interest, they visited the flagship store of MATSU in Shanghai.
