With this question, MATSU,together with Tongji University College of Design and Innovation,takes a pioneering step to design a space that is "Without mobile phone".It’s a Phone Free Zone.

Is life going to be slow?

Am I going to be forgotten by others?

Am I going to lose connection with the world?

A very famous philosopher Pascal, who lived more than 300 years ago, told us: All our pain stems from not being able to be alone in a house. In today’s world, this sentence has to be modified to : All our pain stems from not being able to be alone without a mobile phone in a house

In April, MATSU and Tongji University College of Design and Innovation and Linköping University jointly held a survey centering on “PHONE ZONE FREE”.

This survey centers on “PHONE”, which will in batches carry out deep consideration and imagination on the relationship and role-playing of “PHONE” in our work and life. Members analyze, interpret and raise questions in terms of the contributions and “side effect” of mobile phone, in the hope of finding new solutions in new era.

MATSU hopes to, through this collaboration and survey, dig the demands and changes of office space and think about the relationship between space planning, furniture design and smart terminals, thus bringing about new working trends and concepts for the market and providing a balanced way for modern people to well handle mankind life and smart technology development.

The survey kicked off on April, 17. Tongji University College of Design and Innovation and Linköping University visited MATSU flagship store and held a vibrant discussion on “PHONE FREE ZONE”. So exciting and creative!
